Between the Pages

The mural “Between the Pages”, part of the project “The Cycle of Knowledge”, is the work of the talented young artist Veneta Marinova, a master's degree graduate in Mural Painting from the National Academy of Arts. The artwork depicts knowledge as a living, breathing cycle that connects generations. At the center of the composition is a female figure symbolizing the beauty of knowledge itself and curiosity as a natural human trait.

The painting is created in soft tones with delicate decorative elements on the woman’s clothing, inspired by Bulgarian folklore—emphasizing the connection between generations. At the same time, the figure is rendered in an Art Nouveau style, intended to further highlight the beauty of knowledge through the beauty of the female form.

The book is a recurring element forming geometric structures that correspond to the existing architectural features of the building, contributing to a natural dynamism in the composition. It serves as a collective symbol of all the “sources” from which a person draws knowledge and information.

“Cycle of Knowledge” aims to create a contemporary and inspiring living environment in Studentski Grad. At the core of the project is the theme of knowledge and its exchange between generations as a driving force for progress and societal development. An important aspect of the project is the authentic exchange of knowledge between generations and the direct involvement of students from different fields, who will contribute to shaping the environment in Studentski Grad into what they want it to be.

“Cycle of Knowledge” Episode 2 is carried out with the financial support of Sofia Municipality – Culture Programme 2025, and in partnership with Sofia Municipality – Studentski District, the University of National and World Economy, and the National Academy of Arts.
