Layer 2 - solo show by KOTK
Cyberpunk characters, graffiti and street art culture take over Alma da Rua gallery in March and April 2026.
No, it's not about the end of the world, but about the solo show of the Bulgarian graffiti artist KOTK - debut in Brazil.
Where: Alma da Rua, São Paulo, Brazil
Opening: 21 March 2026
Exhibition period: 21 March – 16 April 2026
KOTK 3.3 – Layer 2 exhibition will be hosted by Alma da Rua Gallery in São Paulo - one of the leading spaces dedicated to street culture and contemporary urban art in the popular graffiti area Beco do Batman. The Bulgarian urban art organization VISIONARY brings KOTK’s artwork to South America and this is the artist`s debut show on the continent.
The project reflects on the technological and cultural shifts of the past decade, shaped by the rise of AI and blockchain technologies. Themes such as meme culture, NFTs, crypto punk, and Bitcoin form a core conceptual framework, informing a visual language that originates in digital environments and is translated into physical space.
KOTK 3.3 – Layer 2 marks the second collaboration between VISIONARY Foundation and Alma da Rua Gallery, following their first joint project in 2023. The exhibition is part of a one-month artistic mission in Brazil, organized by VISIONARY, bringing together a Bulgarian team consisting of graffiti and mural artists KOTK and JahOne, and the producer Delyana Angelova. The initiative focuses on artistic exchange, mobility, and strengthening connections between the Bulgarian and Brazilian street art scenes.
About the exhibition
KOTK 3.3 – Layer 2 showcases the artist’s most recent artworks, including digital prints, 3D-printed sculptures, and selected original pieces. The exhibition highlights KOTK’s ongoing transition from traditional graffiti practices toward contemporary digital tools, while maintaining a strong connection to his street art roots. This dialogue between analog and digital processes lies at the heart of the project.
This event presents the next stage in the artistic research of Bulgarian graffiti and mural artist KOTK. The exhibition continues the conceptual and visual exploration initiated with Layer 1, a solo exhibition at Dom na Kinoto, Sofia in October 2025.
KOTK’s artistic universe is deeply influenced by pop culture, video games, animation, and comic book imagery. References such as Transformers, Dr. Doom, Akira, games like Unreal Tournament, and iconic characters from Batman and Spider-Man contribute to the exhibition’s aesthetic and narrative structure, creating a hybrid visual language rooted in both street culture and digital futurism. As part of the exhibition, a graffiti mural will be realized in the immediate surroundings of Alma da rua Gallery in Beco do Batman in conjunction with the opening.
The mobility of the Bulgarian group is funded by the National Culture Fund of Bulgaria, Mobility Programme 2025.
Partners of the project include Alma da rua Gallery, the Embassy of Bulgaria in Brazil, Los Amigos, Nou Colors, Chopp do Beco, and Gold LINE Tattoo.
