The mural artist Guillem Font depicted in his recent mural in Sofia, Bulgaria the Golden Bridges - the largest rock river in the area.

The name Golden Bridges derives from the golden-like colour of the lichens growing on the surface of the giant stones. With his signature style Font creates a magic realm that celebrates this year’s 90th anniversary of National park Vitosha in an unique way.

From October 28th to November 3rd, the Spanish mural artist Guillem Font paintied a mural on depicting Vitosha and typical natural elements of the flora and fauna of the mountain. The wall, which became a piece of contemporary urban art faces the yard of the National Professional High School of Poligraphy and Photography, Sofia. As an additional activity to the art project, financed under the Program "Europe" of Sofia Municipality, the artist led a linocut workshop with high school students, which deepened their practical skills in this old printing technique and at the same time get their attention to the tourism of Vitosha.

The central place in the painting is given to the Spotted Gentian. The typical Vitosha plant species is interpreted by Guillem Font, who gives the mountain a fairy-tale character with his unique style. The Spotted Gentian is known as a medicinal plant, widely used in medicine and herbalism. Unfortunately, the mass collection of its rhizomes has led to a sharp decrease in its habitat, but the status of a protected species has managed to prevent the disappearance of this beautiful and mystical plant from our mountains. The plant is part of the Red Book of endangered species in Bulgaria.
