Part of you is a new life for another

The mural "A Part of You May Be a New Life for Another" by the contemporary graffiti artist JahOne is an artwork painted as part of an awareness campaign in support of the organ donation.
The mural with a height of 12 meters is an interpretation of the theme and suggests the transcendental nature of man.

For the second year in a row, Astelas Bulgaria and the Bulgarian Society of Nephrology (BDN) in partnership with the New Bulgarian University (NBU) are organizing an information campaign in support of organ donation "To Donate Life". Thankful for the trust in the process of our mutual work and especially for the invitation to Visionary to join the campaign through creating a long-term art intervention in the urban space.

The purpose of the campaign is to raise awareness to the public of the benefits of organ donation, as the need for donor organs worldwide is growing every year. In Bulgaria, nearly 1 200 people need a transplantation. At the same time, only 30 people a year are donors in our country, in contrast to countries such as Belgium, Austria and the Netherlands, where their number is about 200. Statistics show that the organs of only one donor can save up to 8 lives. If the patient's tissues are added, the number can reach 10.

On October 10, we celebrate the European Donor Day.
